Our annual Prize-Giving Evening is due to take place on Tuesday 27 September at 5.30pm and will see winners – accompanied by up to two parents – invited along to claim their awards. The event will take between 45 mins to 1 hour and will be held in our newly refurbished theatre.
The prizes are awarded to a range of students but are largely based around those who moved through Year 9 and Year 11 last Summer and picked up acclaim in specific subjects. Elsewhere, there are further awards for themes such as The Friary Ethic.
All parents have been notified of their child winning a prize with the list of winners is:

Bex Oldfield, Assistant Headteacher said: “Having recently taken up my role, I’m looking forward to meeting all these students at the event and learning more about their success stories. My role is very much about making sure the future cohorts achieve these levels of success so there will be lots to pick up. It will be a fantastic evening and a chance to reward parents too as I have quickly learnt they are pivotal at The Friary in helping their children to shine.”
Matt Allman, Headteacher, added: “It is also a pleasure to celebrate success, but there is also a hint of ‘hmmph’ in my thinking as there are so many children worthy of praise that could easily be added to this list – though the event would go on all night. Certainly, after the school‘s stunning set of Year 11 results, Abbie and Freya Mackman, Philippa Meredith, Libby Hayward and Jack Jarman, amongst many others, stand out too. We’ll certainly celebrate these winners – and not everyone can win – but we’ll also give quiet nod to those not quite making the list but still being worthy of huge praise.”
