At the end of our first full week the battle for the annual House Cup has roared into life and promises to be a bloodthirsty affair as four might warriors – aka our Heads of House (Mr Britton – Darwin, Mr Cartner – Garrick, Ms Plested – Johnson, Mr Sleigh – Seward) – set out on their missions of vengeance and war cry to hopefully emerge victorious on the House point battlefield come July 2023.

The annual House Trophies are topped by the House Cup but there are also awards for Attendance, Behaviour, House Points, Debating, Independent Learning and Charity Fund Raising so there really is all to play for.

Garrick House are leading the way on Attendance with 98%, followed by Seward on 97% and then Darwin & Johnson trailing on 96%.

Meanwhile, on House Points, Seward are leading the way on 9,450, Darwin next on 8,539, Johnson on 7,794 and Garrick last on 7,735.

Stacey Walsh, Assistant Headteacher, said: “With half-termly House trophies up for grabs there is a lot to play for. I am hugely impressed at the House Points earned – over 30,000 in a week and a half suggests we have some pretty amazing children out there – but we already knew that. Even so, there is work for one or two to do improve so we’ll be supporting all of our children to do their level best.”
