Long-Term Boarding Changes to 819 Service:
The following information has been relayed by Staffordshire County Council’s School Transport:
We have been monitoring the operation of Midland Classic/Diamond Buses Service 819 since the commencement of term and wish to advise you of a change to the route for this Service which will take effect from Tuesday 20 September 2022.
The timetable for this Service will remain unchanged however, to improve the arrival time at school in the mornings the Service will reduce the route and boarding points in the Streethay area.
Pupils who wish to board this Service in Streethay will now need to board at either The Bus Terminus on Roman Heights or on Trent Valley Road next to Crossfield Road. Please note this Service will no longer travel along Thompson Way or Yoxall Way, Streethay. The revised route for this Service is as follows:
Schoolbound – Hill Ridware, Uttoxeter Road, Kings Bromley Lane, Rugeley Road, Lichfield Road, Kings Bromley, Alrewas Road, Daisy Lane, Long Lane, Fradley, Church Lane, Turnbull Road, Common Lane, Wood End Lane, A38, Swinfen Interchange, A38, Cappers Lane, Streethay, Trent Valley Road, Oak Way, Trent Valley Road, St Michael’s Road, St Chad’s Road, Curborough Road, Eastern Avenue, Friary School.
The afternoon journey remains unchanged.
Thank you to all parents who have provided feedback regarding this service. We will continue to monitor the operation of Service 819 over the next few weeks to ensure this change has been effective and pupils are arriving at school on time.
Short-Term Boarding Changes to 819 Service:
The following information has been relayed by Staffordshire County Council’s School Transport:
Due to the emergency closure of Wood End Lane, Hilliards Cross from Tuesday 20 September to Thursday 22 September inclusive – Service 819 will be following a diversion route in this locality. This will not affect any of the stops served on this route, however the morning journey to school will commence 15 minutes earlier than currently timetabled from Hill Ridware, Kings Bromley and Fradley on these days. Times at Streethay will remain unchanged. All times to return to normal on Friday 23 September 22.
There is no change to the afternoon journey times.
Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “The changes should help address the issue of lateness which is impacting on each 819 child’s morning lessons. We are grateful that the Staffordshire County Council team have taken on board the communications of both the school and parents. Even so, for us there remains the issue of the buses remaining very busy and we are continuing a dialogue on this issue. We will continue to monitor arrivals and do all we can – we want our students in school and on time.”
