Regretfully, Millie, our school dog, passed away over the summer holidays so will no longer be with us in the new term.
Millie was 14 and having been rescued from a factory breeder in Doncaster by Mr Neale – our Learning Hub and Safeguarding Leader – had a wonderful life at home and in school.
Her presence around the school has been huge. All children loved fussing and petting her, she could appear anywhere, she was a great antidote to any child’s anger, frustration, or worries, and as a school who celebrate animals throughout the year she was our headline and lead.
Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “There is no doubt that animals bring wonderful qualities to the hustle-and-bustle of school and there will be plenty of children who will be just as upset as many of us staff. We will miss Millie a great deal.”
