Last week all parents of Year 12 students were invited to attend an evening about the application process into higher education.
We were delighted to welcome back representatives from Aberystwyth and De Montford University alongside Ask Apprenticeships to discuss the potential access routes and guidance on how to make the most of this time.
Parents and students had the opportunity to hear about the UCAS process alongside finding out about how to make the most of open days, student finance and higher/degree level apprenticeships.
The feedback form parents was very positive: “The evening provided many opportunities to ask questions about my child’s options” and “It provided many useful considerations that we had not yet thought about.”
Richard Barnett-Richards, Assistant Headteacher, said: ‘It was great to see so many families in attendance to consider the wide range of opportunities that are available to students. We encourage all students think about both their academic and wider skills and what they can do to support their future aspirations. Now is the time to get a firm idea on their intentions ready for applications to be submitted early in Year 13.”
