Our Year 7 & 9 students were shining at Aldersley Stadium this time as they gained a string of podium finishes across the track and field events.
On the track, Harry Pilgram (Year 7) started off a successful afternoon with Gold in the 800m. Alfie Bedlow and Oli Burnside (Year 7) both top 3 in the 75m hurdles. Poppy O’Sullivan (Year 7) 2nd in her 800m event and Libbie Joyce (Year 9) 3rd in 1500m. Elsewhere, Rhys Wynne (Year 9) running his 100m in great time.
There are a string of heats across the County for participants so we are waiting on where students finish overall but we are in a very good position going into the final Year 7 and 8 event after half term, before the schools final championships on 16 June.
Jamie Sleigh, PE Teacher and team coach, said: “Huge thanks to all students who participated and to the parents who travelled to come and support. It has been great to see athletics meet sup-and-running and we have to think we’ll have representation in the finals next month.”
