Last week saw many Year 12s compete for the prestigious positions of the Senior 6. With over 25% of the cohort applying for the roles it was a tough competition. All students performed brilliantly in the application process and interviews and were a real credit to the school, so much so we have added an extra position to form the Senior 7. We congratulate the following students who have now taken up this mantle from the Year 13 students to form our new Senior 7:
Head Boy: Will Moseley
Head Girl: Grace Williams
Deputy Head Boy: Flynn Mulligan
Deputy Head Girl: Rosie Bentley
Charities Coordinator: Amelia Fradley
Events Coordinator: Lydia Bedlow
Chair of the School Council: Amy Hirst
We look forward to all of the excellent support and guidance they will provide to younger students and the school over the coming year and wish them well.
Grace Williams, Head Girl, said: ‘Becoming Head Girl has been an aspiration of mine for many years. I feel grateful to have been trusted with such a great responsibility and I’m looking forward to working alongside the other Senior 7 members and the Sixth Form team next year‘
Richard Barnett-Richards, Assistant Headteacher, added: ‘Student leadership is a key element to improving the skills of our Sixth Form students. These students epitomise the values and ethos that the Friary stands for and look to be both role models and ambassadors to their peers. Through careful guidance and coaching we hope to develop student leadership throughout the school as well as providing students with the confidence and skills to carry on into adult life’.
