Our annual variety show played to full houses on both nights and took audiences around the world in 80 minutes with a wild and varied set drawing on influences from across the world.

Vietnam took in Miss Saigon with Emily Rice, Greece included Myths & Legends with the Year 8-9 Drama Club, the Caribbean included a ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ Dance with the Paso Doble Troupe, Egypt provided an early taster for our KS3 Show (June 2022) with the Joseph cast performing ‘Any Dream Will Do’, Saudi Arabia saw physical theatre for the Y10 Performing Arts students, and we ended up with the UK Finale of ‘Consider Yourself’ from ‘Oliver’.

The show always takes up part of the Sheriff of Lichfield’s fund-raising schedule, and so we were delighted to welcome Peter Hitchman, Sheriff of Lichfield, Councillor Richard Yardley (Mayor of Lichfield), and Councillor Jamie Checkland (Deputy Mayor of Lichfield), as well as their consorts.

Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “The range and standard of the acts this year was fantastic. We have sought to bring back our shows swiftly – even amidst the on-going COVID issues – and the enthusiasm and energy from students and families wholly justifies this decision. Everyone who came along had a wonderful time and we are now looking forward to our remaining ‘show’ events for the school year: the Year 7-9 musical ‘Joseph’ and our Summer Sizzler Music Festival later in the Summer Term.”
