2 teams of Year 9 and 10 girls competed in a tournament at King Edwards in the glorious sunshine this week and performed superbly.

Despite some injuries, we fielded 2 full teams with girls sometimes playing in positions they hadn’t played competitively in before. The girls also all stepped up to take a turn in goal. Every player was amazingly resilient and played extremely well against tough opposition.

There were some excellent goals from Poppy Grimshaw, Ava Niven and Gracie Smith but every player tried hard and played an important part in the team.

Hollie Wright, PE teacher and team coach, said: “It was a pleasure to witness such a high standard of play. I am so proud of all our students, they did tremendously well, and we look forward to more tournaments in the future.”
