To celebrate National Careers Week and as part of our Raising Aspirations Programme, today we welcomed The Mercian Regiment into school who delivered an inspiring presentation about careers in the The British Army.

The presentation explained about careers in The Armed Forces and the many inspiring projects they have involvement with alongside career progression routes. The soldiers delivered factual, educational information on the many tours that they had been on throughout their careers including their own personal experiences and career pathways. This has given our students who had expressed an interested in this field the opportunity to understand about the careers on offer and how well equipped The Mercian Regiment are.

Faye Banks, Career Provisions Coordinator, said: “Through this unique experience, students have developed their knowledge about the wider careers in this area and further educational opportunities in The Armed Forces.  The students engaged with much enthusiasm in the Q&A session asking many interesting questions which all of the answers gave them an even bigger insight into careers of this type.”
