Year 7 boys tonight represented The Friary in a Rugby 7’s tournament and performed fantastically.
Many of the boys were playing rugby competitively for the first time and came up against some already seasoned players. However, they all performed well and some excellent touch tackling was on show.
There were tries scored by captain Will Pemberton (x2), Bentley Felton and Charlie Yeo.
Jamie Slight, PE teacher and team coach, said: “It’s great to see so many turning up to rugby club with Mr Millward on a Thursday after school and now getting an opportunity to play competitive games against strong opposition. We look forward to Year 8’s tournament Wednesday 30th and Year 9’s Wednesday 6th April.”
