The most recent round of the House Debating Competition saw Year 10s debate around the topic of Internet Safety Week with the argument surrounding: ‘All internet usage should be monitored by the government…’

Seward House were victories in this round with 45 points, follow by Johnson 38 points, Garrick 34 points and Darwin 33 points.

The overall standing – with three debates to go – are:

  1. Darwin House – 232 points
  2. Seward House – 217 points
  3. Garrick house – 171 points
  4. Johnson House – 140 points

Next up are Year 9 during National Careers Week where they will debate: ‘Inequality in the workplace is a thing of the past…’

It is a great competition to watch, drums home the message of informed and well-argued opinions, and provides the grounding for our teams that enter the district School’s Speaking Competition in the Sixth Form.”
