Congratulations to the Year 10 students who have taken part in our debating competition over the last couple of days. The topic being discussed, ‘All internet usage should be monitored by the government,’ enabled students to develop their research skills.
The external judges Nina Worrall (Trustee from Greywood MST) and Jane Mackenzie (Chair of Governors) chose Lily Griffin and Millie Smith as the ‘Most Valuable Debaters’. A special mention was also given to Eve Neenan and Meg Mathias for their contribution to their teams.
Seward won overall with a team that included Lily Griffin, Jack Dobson, Jacob Cooper and Rowan Tennant.
Carrie Cain, Deputy Headteacher, said: ” “The year 10 students prepared exceptionally well for this event. The winning team planned a very thorough argument and the overall standard of competition was excellent. I wouldn’t want to come across any of these students in a debate any time soon.”
