Our Year 11 Hospitality & Catering students are facing their practical exams over the next two weeks with groups of students preparing their culinary creations in small groups.
The exams are scheduled for 26-28 January and 2-4 February and each student has been notified of their slot. They have compiled their ingredients list and are pretty much ready to hit the kitchen.
Their dishes are assessed under a number of formal criteria – including cooking and presentation – and the final results add to their written exam and their practical coursework.
Ian Rose, Deputy Headteacher, said: “Clearly the hospitality and catering sector is a large sector in terms of employment, never mind the life skills taught by this subject. We are working on one or two COVID issues but are looking forward to seeing, and evening occasionally tasting, the receipes.”
