This week, Y10 students have had an assembly to educate them on the issues of forced marriage, honour killing and female genital mutilation. These topics have been approached from the angle of human rights and the law.

Helen Barratt, Head of Faculty, said: “Though honour-based abuse, forced marriage and FGM are not likely to directly affect many, if any, of our students, it’s important they all have a knowledge and understanding that these practices exist, are a violation of human rights and are illegal in the UK.”
