Our Sixth Form students have adopted ‘Guide Dogs UK as their chosen charity and launched their own fund-raising ‘90’s Dress-Up Day’ which saw students parade around the school in a whole host of brilliant and amusing costumes.
These charity works were led by our Interact Club which sees Sixth Formers work alongside Lichfield St Chad Rotary Club on a series of charitable events through the year.
The outfits included students dressed as famous footballers of the era, Spice Girls, iconic film characters and even a Tellytubby to add to the mix!
This, alongside a Christmas quiz, raised an incredible £250 for Guide Dogs UK, who we know will be really appreciative of the school’s contributions.
Sarah Phillips, Head of Sixth Form, said: ‘With the end of term upon us, it was absolutely brilliant to see Sixth Formers having fun, all in the name of a good cause ! We are passionate about seeing our students introduce their own fairy dust to make Sixth Form life a mix of madcap fun and entertaining – as well as hard work. The Interact Club worked hard to organise this event for the cohort. I’m really proud of the initiative and team spirit they all showed.’
Matt Allman, Headteacher, added: “This was very much my era and though I missed seeing my Albarn fringe (now long gone), my Liam-esque swagger and what I insist was a very fashionable sheepskin jacket, the day was still great fun.”
