The Friary PTFA was delighted to be invited to lead a run of the Lichfield Round Table on the Grange Lane / Stafford Lane leg of their 23-day adventure through December.
The team include both PTFA members and Friary staff and there were several students who were very surprised by their teachers turning up on their doorstep collecting funds for a string of local charities.
The Friary PTFA get a portion of the overall collection and this year are targeting a refurbishment of the school theatre and a school garden for lessons and clubs.
Lottie Hearn, Deputy Headteacher and Friary PTFA Link, said; “We were very grateful to the PTFA team for giving up their time on what was a chilly evening to support this project and out school. They have had a busy term but when everyone chips in the various initiatives become easier. We are already looking forward to future events including our Quiz Night, Comedy Evening, Show & Stage bars and Summer Sizzler.”
Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “We think Lichfield Round Table do a fantastic job with their Santa Run and always count ourselves lucky to get a stint on the project. It is a real thrill to see children’s faces light up when Santa arrives and, though our students are perhaps a little too old for that, they still get the benefits from the wonderful work of our PTFA.”
