Joanne Shalloe (Work Experience Support Services) talked to our Year 12 students today during their assembly about preparing for their week of work experience during the Summer Term. As some students have already started their search for a placement, the hints and tips Joanne provided were invaluable in helping students to secure a placement that will improve their employability skills in preparation for their next steps.

During their week of work experience, Year 12 students will gain exposure and insight into the world of work so they can develop transferable skills and knowledge. This will help them prepare for higher education, apprenticeships, employment and interviews.

Faye Banks, Aspirations Mentor, said: ‘ Students are enthusiastic about finding a placement and exploring the world of work. We are so grateful to Joanne for taking the time to talk to our students today.  We are looking forward to working with local employers next year as our students complete placements with them.’
