Huge thanks to King Edwards VI, Nether Stowe, The Cathedral School and HART School for coming to The Friary this evening to take part in the annual small sided football tournament.
Friary were excellent from start to finish winning every group game which saw them go through to the final against a very strong KEVI side.
The final ended 1-1 ( the only goal we conceded in the tournament) and needed to be decided by a penalty shootout. Izaak Bailey made an outstanding save in the shootout and with Evan Wynne, Josh Evans and Riley Preece-Jones all slotting their penalties home, the Friary Year 9 team came out winners.
Player of the tournament was Ed Collis, who was exceptional in defence all evening and a calming presence on the ball.
Mr Sleigh, PE Teacher, said: “I am so proud of all of the boys who took part in this tournament. They worked so hard for each and every goal and were determined to succeed. It is an absolute pleasure to teach and coach these boys. A huge well done to all players!”
