Our Geography Department has set up a peer mentoring scheme using their Geography Subject Ambassadors where GCSE students can pair up with an A-Level Geography students to get support and advice on how to be successful in the course.
The students meet up in tutor times and it serves both parties well – GCSE students with exam expertise and A-Level students through CVs, honing expectations, and re-assessing their own expertise.
The scheme builds on the wider Subject Ambassador scheme which supports progression and options advice, and adds to work in Student Councils, school show rehearsals, musical mentoring and sports leadership.
Sam Sullivan, Assistant Headteacher, said: “We are always looking for innovative scheme to help our students to progress and this scheme is a fantastic one in bridging the journey from GCSE to Sixth Form.”
