After almost two years of the Covid Pandemic, we are pleased to say that the PTFA is still going strong despite having to scale back our annual events calendar. We’re glad to be back and have already kicked the year off with our hugely popular Oktoberfest and we are looking forward to raising record funds this academic year.
Here at The Friary School we are extremely lucky to have a group of supportive parents who come together to help form our Parent, Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA). This group of parents are active in helping to run a wide variety of fundraising events to help raise vital funds for our school. Our next PTFA meeting will be on Monday 8th November at 6.30pm and we would love to welcome new members to the meeting.
Our PTFA meet once a half term in order to plan events that are coming up. The meetings are also attended by members of the school leadership team who are passionate about making a difference.
In recent years, the PTFA have raised enough money to refurbish the school Library, Sixth Form Centre and Canteen as well as help to fund some of the live events we help our children to put on throughout the year. They also help us to purchase rewards and resources that we wouldn’t normally be able to afford. Our vibrantly ‘skinned’ mini-buses were also funded by the PTFA and ensure our pupils get noticed on their sporting fixtures and trips out!
The PTFA is a registered charity and all of the funds raised are spent on initiatives that directly impact on the pupils and make their time at the school more enjoyable.
Our PTFA isn’t just about the fundraising, parents are able to come together and meet with other parents to support the school. Many friendships have been forged over the years and we are pleased to say that our community of PTFA parents are friendly, supportive and great fun to be around.

We don’t expect our members to attend every meeting or event, but if you think you can help out or have some great fundraising ideas – we’d love to see you at our next meeting!”
