It was fantastic to see so many enthusiastic and bubbly Year 6’s at our Open Evening and we’re hopeful we’ll have many of them with us in September 2022.

The evening included a presentation by the Headteacher and an opportunity to tour the whole site with student guides so that children and parents could scratch beneath the surface and uncover what the school was really like. It was important to find out if the Headteacher’s words matched the reality of the students and staff who come to our school.

The children could pick exactly where they wanted to go whether it be the explosions in Science or the quiet of the library, the hubbub of the Sports Hall or the ghosts of ICT, or the melody of the Music Department or the heat of the Catering kitchens.

Lottie Hearn, Assistant Headteacher and Transition Lead, said: “It was wonderful to feel the buzz of a busy Open Evening once again. This was only the start of our full transition programme for new students. We liaise closely with the excellent local primary schools and we endeavour to put as much in place as we can to help every child get off to a flying start when they join us.”

Matt Allman, Headteacher, added: “We were thrilled to see so many faces and to stress that we know every child wants to be someone and that we take it as our job to help them become the best someone they can be. Fingers crossed we can work with the children and families who came along last night in September 2022 and up to Summer 2029.”
