Well, we have had a long run up to this Y10 Bronze DofE assessed weekend, but they did it!
Numbers went down from 19 due to COVID but we still had 11 strong students complete their weekend. Even with heavy rain and the mixing of friendship groups, they were still ‘happy’ at the end – though maybe because it was the end, and they were wet!
The weekend saw the following students achieve their expedition credit for their Bronze Award and they are all on track to reach the overall benchmark: Isabel Aldridge, Isobel Allman, Emily Beddow, Isaac Brodie, Grace Cunningham, Holly Cutland, Ben Lawrence, Amelie Menaut, Abbie Pendlebury, Aisha Ratnasabapathy, and Freya Short.
Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “The torrential rain was a challenge but the students did so well. Equally, I cannot thank the staff enough for continuing to make this scheme happen whether it be weather, bubbles, isolations or whatever. Our students development is more than just the classroom and the Duke of Edinburgh scheme is a wonderful one to succeed in.”
