Thinking of having a spring clean and clear out over the Easter break?
Your old stuff can help to raise much needed funds for our Parent, Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA). Usually, we are able to hold lots of different events in school to help raise extra funds to directly support our students. In the past funds have been used to help pay for rewards, events, books as well as bigger projects such as the school canteen extension and the Sixth Form Centre refurbishment.
This year we have not been able to do as many of our usual fundraising events so your help with these two fundraising initiatives would be greatly appreciated.
If you are having a clear out over the Easter holiday put to one side items that could be donated to the following collections on our return to school (during school hours):
Book Collection:
Please drop off any unwanted books to our reception. They must be in good condition and include an ISBN barcode on the cover. We can then pick out books for our school library as well as sell the books online to raise money for our PTFA. Each book will help to raise approximately 50p.
Bag2School Clothing Collection:
Please send in your old clothes, paired shoes, handbags, belts and accessories (no uniforms, workwear, pillows, duvets or pieces of fabric please).
Securely bag up your donations and bring to reception by the end of Monday 26th April – this is so they can go off in our morning collection at 9.00am on Tuesday 27th April 9.00am.
Every little bit really does help to raise funds that we use to directly impact on your child.
Lottie Hearn, Assistant Headteacher, said; “Our PTFA have been brilliant over the last year. They have continued to meet and come-up with fundraising ideas despite the difficult situation we have found ourselves in over the last year. They have also been fantastic in coming forward to volunteer and support the testing programme in in school over the last few weeks and I know they are all keen to get our usual fundraising events back on the calendar once restrictions have been eased.”
If you are interested in being a part of our PTFA please email pta@friaryschool.co.uk for details of our next meeting.
