Staffordshire County Council’s Safeguarding Team have made us aware of a video for parents relating to Child Exploitation produced by PACE (Parent Against Child Exploitation).
Certainly, parents are often the first to notice that their child is being exploited. It is so important to act quickly and intervene early if you suspect your child is being exploited.
This video relays real life experiences of parents and helps to flag up the signs that your child may be being exploited; whether that be in relation to crime, drugs, sex or other issues.
The video can be found here, as well as other guidance related to issues like County Lines.
Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “The world our teenagers grow up in now is very different to that we grew up in as parents and it is well worthwhile familiarising yourself with the issue of child exploitation. It is a live local issue, it is one that people think will never happen to them, and it is one that can have lasting effects. Even so, it is one you can work on, get support for, and help steer your child through.”
