There are two chances to win book tokens for World Book Day – both for students and our school as a whole.
You can access the World Book Day Token at: https://www.worldbookday.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/booktoken_SecondaryUK.pdf
This £1 book token can be exchanged for one of World Book Day’s exclusive, new £1 books (see the full line-up at worldbookday.com/books/) OR for getting £1 off any book or audiobook costing £2.99 or more in participating bookshops and supermarkets.
There is some more information about the £1 books, as well as information about the English department’s favourite books too:

Elsewhere, there is a ‘Design a Book Token’ Competition where The Friary School could win hundreds of pounds worth of books through students’ efforts. There is more information and the chance to be a national winner at: https://www.worldbookday.com/competitions/design-a-national-book-token-2021/
Sam Sullivan, Assistant Headteacher, said: “World Book Day is all about inspiring reading and these vouchers and schemes mean there is no excuse for anyone not to get involved. Reading for love, reading for knowledge or reading for exams all bring benefits and we would encourage everyone to make an effort to read a new book over the next week.”
