We are keen to support any children who wish to increase their reading at home during lockdown and we are happy to organise delivery of library books loaned via the school website.
Although students can’t currently browse the school library’s bookshelves in person, this can still be done virtually.
Available books can be viewed via our Resources Catalogue, which is available on the school website. Click Learning then Library – the form for online book orders is also on this page as well as the Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9) reading lists.
We would especially recommend that students on the Accelerated Reader programme ensure that they have enough reading material at home.
In this time of national lockdown, to keep the number of journeys at a reasonable level, we would ask families to use this facility only if they are about to exhaust their reading material at home.
Orders for book loans may take a few days to process and deliver.
Mark Drury, Assistant Headteacher, said: “In more normal times, the school library exists to inspire and encourage students to read for pleasure. We are committed to supporting to every child’s learning during this period of remote education. This will be a useful and important option for some families.”
