We have a series of online ‘face-to-face’ sessions through this period of Remote Learning which are mapped out for you below.
As a snapshot in the first week – bearing in mind we started on Tuesday with the extended programme after less than 24 hours notice – we have had 378 ‘live’ seminars and 985 learning tasks set on Show My Homework.
The ‘live’ sessions follow our seminar approach where the work is posted on Show My Homework and then the teacher runs a Teams session for students to have tasks and concepts explained, to answer any questions, and to map out what has been done and what is coming.
All ‘live’ sessions will see students receive a Teams invite and students should be ready to log-on from the start of the lesson – though it may take the teacher a few minutes to set up as they move into the room and log-on to the base computer.
All ‘live’ sessions are recorded so can be caught up if they are missed due to technology problems, shared computers, etc.
The other sessions will see work set via Show My Homework but students can contact their teachers via the SMHW messenger tool or email.

We believe this provides the balance between time to crack on with the work, and time to check understanding and secure key concepts. Elsewhere, our pastoral and SEND teams will be making regular contact with more vulnerable and SEND students at home to ensure they are on track, safe and well.”
