This week saw Friary staff obtain a ‘reduced price’ flu jab as part of our support for our staff in protecting them from the likely upsurge in flu through the winter and to keep them safe, well and in work.

The flu jab has been extended in availability this year – to help support the NHS as it deals with the COVID – and the uptake by the Year 7s who all received access to extra doses was high.

Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “What with the extra demands on schools at this time, the challenges of recruitment, and the importance of retention, we put a lot of work into supporting our staff and this vaccination is part of that. Our staff are the key driver for students’ success so keeping them fit and healthy is vital.”
