All of us are well aware how trying times are at the moment and it only reminds us that the priority we place on mentoring, counselling and support is the right one for our students.

We have a wide range of counselling provision in school, whether it be internal via Student Support, peer work, or pastoral staff, or external via CAMHS, Bereavement teams, or Co-Op mentoring.

Additionally, we employ an external counsellor – who have worked with us for several years has very much become internal – called Sarah Terry and she meets with youngsters during the school day to work through their concerns and issues; including low mood, anxiety or anger management.

As well as more complex issues. Sarah regularly posts lots of helpful articles on her website and her YouTube Channel. These posts are designed to assist students who feel things aren’t going well for you at the moment or just want some advice on how to deal with an issue. They can be viewed at: www.sarahterry.co.uk

Luke Baker, Assistant Headteacher, said: “We take our responsibilities very seriously when it comes to safeguarding and supporting our students and this is why we engage with a wide range of providers to offer the best we can in what are challenging times for lots of reasons.”
