The Friary School is delighted to report a major extension to the school’s canteen facilities which will be completed over the summer holidays.

The extension will provide further food outlets and extra seating in what is a busy area of the school. The space will also be designed to be adaptable for large group teaching and school events.

The building works have been secured through funding from the Greywood Multi-Schools Trust, who we academised with in September 2019, and architects, engineers and builders are already well down the planning route.

Furthermore, our fantastic PTFA are funding the furniture for the area in terms of new seating, tables, TVs and decoration, in what will be a real plus for every student at the school.

Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “We are delighted that our PTFA and the Greywood MST have joined forces on this project and it is most timely that we have extra dining space just before all our students return to school in September. We firmly believe that good facilities and care for our environment are integral in building a motivated and upbeat ethos and our growing intake and recent exam results suggest we are not far from the right track.”
