Years 10 to 13 students will have the opportunity to visit a Student Volunteering Fair / Careers Fair. This will be based in and outside the library during National Careers Week.

Twenty-two companies will be visiting the school to discuss with students the importance of volunteering and possible careers that are available to them. Some of the companies involved are the COOP, Morrisons, Curborough Community Centre and the Job Centre.

During the day, students will have the opportunity to collect information which will offer guidance for any events they may wish to get involved in.
They will not be asked to give personal details or sign up to any activities. We hope this will provide them with valuable experiences, insights and inspiration to build their confidence as well as their CVs.

Carrie Cain, Assistant Headteacher, said: “We are very keen to build our students’ confidence levels as they move towards the world of work and getting facts and advice from local employers is an excellent way of doing this.”
