Over 50 KS3 students have been involved in our Reading Challenge and they have been working toward Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards for their reading.
The Silver winners (see photograph) all got a ‘Magic Lunch Pass’ which entitled them to get to the front of the dinner queue for a week with a friend of their choice.
There was also one student, Demi Sugden, who has quickly reached the Gold Award and so has won a free book as her prize and met with the Headteacher to receive praise for her hard work.
Suzanne Fayed, scheme co-ordinator, said: “The fifty participants are doing very well and we are very proud of their progress. Reading is such a vital skill as it helps students to access all of their courses and this initiative is designed to fire up the love, enthusiasm and commitment for regular reading”.
