Despite a cold and windy night, The Friary boys triumped in a friendly hockey tournament with Lichfield Cathedral School.
The Friary played against both A & B teams and even battled each other in a Friary v Friary showdown with the B team winning the tournament overall.
The tournament saw an amazing 20 goals in total from The Friary boys with the ‘top scorer’ title being shared between Will Whyte, Joe O’Hara and Max Hewkin. It was also nice to see a debut for Khalil Alashi in the school team.
The boys played some superb tactical hockey, applied constant pressure to the Cathedral defence, who despite their best efforts fell to some high-quality reverse shots from The Friary.
Ms Fallows, Head Coach, said: “The player of tournament award went to Max Hewkin for his sheer determination and tactical awareness. Well done Max, fantastic performance.”
