As part of our on-going work in professional training with staff, we welcomed Michael Burke, a specialist working for Autism Outreach, into school to deliver a modular training session about the challenges students with ASD face in education and the various strategies available to support them.
A large audience of classroom teachers, senior leaders, student support officers and learning support team members were in attendance.
Mark Drury, Assistant Headtacher and SENCO, said: “Michael and his team are no strangers to The Friary and work with students and their families on a regular basis. His session was all the more valuable given his working knowledge of our students.”
