A cohort of Year 11 students took part in a Careers Workshop to support and engage them with their post-16 options. The programme is delivered in partnership with Morrisons as part of IGD’s charitable Feeding Britain’s Future programme, bringing professionals from the food and grocery industry into schools to inspire the next generation and equip them with skills for work.
Earlier on in the year students completed the first workshop around employability skills. Today’s session covered building a curriculum vitae and cover letter which they found very informative and useful. The workshops provide our students with the opportunity to learn all about employability skills help them in the future world of work.
Carrie Cain, Assistant Headteacher, said: “This programme is part of our wider work on careers and it is great to get in professionals from working life to talk directly with our students. The sessions were well-received and have certainly helped focus minds on post-Year 11 steps.”
