The U13 boys fought their way through Storm Brendan this week and took on Abbotsholme in a friendly 8-aside match.
The Friary dominated the first half with a number of excellent balls played through the Abbotsholme defence from Will Whyte but unfortunately, the forwards just couldn’t produce the finish they wanted.
There was a complete turnaround in the second half as Abbotsholme came out to dominate play and shots on goal. The Friary keeper, Josh Douglas-Boisson, showed superb reactions to make some exceptional saves, but with some sneaky runs into the D and some slack marking saw the opposition fired home to win the match.
Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “Both the students and staff deserve all the plaudits for ensuring matches are taking place despite the weather. The boys lost out this time but I know they will be back.”
