The Friary’s annual Carol Concert took place last week at Lichfield Cathedral and was well-attended by students, parents and staff.

The service was led by Canon Andrew Stead, accompanied by readings from staff and students, and led by Jon Hood, Head of Music, who switched straight from ‘Wind in the Willows’ to this concert.

There was plenty of opportunities for the congregation to using favourite carols; with ‘Once in Royal David’s City’, ‘Hark the Herald Angels Sing’ and ‘O Little Town of Bethlehem’.

Elsewhere the Concert Band, ‘Shout It Out’ Choir, and Senior Choice performed a range of recitals ranging from ‘Blinded by Your Grace’ to ‘Psalm 23’.

Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “We love to stage the Christmas Concert as we rush towards the end of term as it is a great reminder that the fun of the festive season is on us. It was a pleasure to sing, to listen and to be a part of the service.”
