Our annual Year 7 Dedication Service welcoming our new students took place at Lichfield Cathedral and the grand location matched the huge potential in this year group.
The service was again led by Reverent Canon Andrew Stead and included songs, recitals and prayers as part of the dedication.
There were also speeches from the Head Boy, Niall Preston, the Head Girl, Hattie Rumsey – giving a fantastic outline of how to make the most of your time in school – and the Headteacher. Even so, the limelight was stolen by William Gittings and Amelia Long who recounted their experiences of their arrival at The Friary.
Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “The Dedication Service is an important rite of passage at our school and the Year 7s did themselves proud with the formality and enthusiasm they brought to the occasion. We are very proud of them already and look forward to seeing their successes in the years ahead.”
