This celebratory day is all about acknowledging the crucial role teachers can play in children’s lives and, at a time when teacher shortages are at their worse, it is something we thought was well worth celebrating with our staff and students.
The current recruitment crisis means we as a school work hard to keep the teachers we have and we strive to maintain strong links with training providers to keep ahead of what is a very difficult game.
Carrie Cain, Assistant Headteacher, said: “Students presented a sponsored gift pack to staff and this gesture very much flagged up a thank-you amidst the hustle-and-bustle of the hectic school day. We made sure we extended the day to all staff at the school as we view everything we do as a real team effort – we succeed and we stumble together, and that is why we are seeing real success for our students.”
Matt Allman, Headteacher, added: “Parents will know the next few weeks see countless after-school boosters, Saturday Schools starting up, and staff giving up their family time for extended day visits and longer residential field trips. From a personal perspective, and having been a senior leader in several schools across the UK, I can say with absolute certainty that we have a superb staff body. There is always more to do, and our staff totally recognise that, but they graft, and go the extra mile and more, and my sincere thanks goes out to each and every one of them”.
