As part of the national sexual health campaign, all students took part in age-appropriate sessions in tutor times and assemblies designed to ensure their personal development moves forward just like their academic pathways.
These sessions covered issues ranging from healthy relationships to contraception. Indeed, Year 11 students met with the NHS Prevention Team and obtained professional and well-informed advice on how to best take care of themselves.
Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “We appreciate we can play a vital role, alongside the obvious parental responsibilities, in making sure our young adults are very much prepared for the adult world. Often life is about learning from mistakes, but if we can reduce mistakes through well-timed and carefully thought out information, then we are delighted to be able to play our part and provide a stimulus for parents to carry on the conversation at home.”
