Our Year 9 football team took on King Edwards in their match of the season and ran out convincing winners.
The Friary opened the scoring through an excellent Ashley Boucher individual goal, before Tom Larkin made it two nil after great work by Lucas Laing (Yr8).
In the second half, King Edwards pulled it back to 2-1 before Tom Larkin made it 3-1 with another great individual goal. Oliver Walker added a fourth goal after great team play from the Friary boys to ensure the win.
Jamie Sleigh, PE Teacher and Team Coach, said: “This was an excellent performance against tough opposition. Even so, amdist a whole host of strong individual performance, it was Ronnie Holt who stepped up and took the ‘Player of the Match’ Award.
