The U14 girls team pencilled in a friendly against their local rivals Denstone College this week and from the first push back Friary pressed hard applying pressure to the opposition’s defence winning a number of short corners.
Early in the first half, Harriet Hill-Breese fired a cracker of a goal to see the girls 1-0 up by half time.
In the second half Friary continued to outrun Denstone College with some precise passing between Emily Beddow and Helena Sixsmith that earned Friary many chances in the D to fire home a number of goals but unfortunately the opposition fought on and pushed the shots wide.
Ten minutes before the final whistle Friary started to tire and with some late runs from Denstone they won the game with a 3-1 result.
Ms Fallows, team coach, said: “The team performed superbly in their first match of the season and will only improve. Player of the Match was Harriet Hill-Breese due to her spectacular performance battling in defence.”
