Thirteen of our Year 7 boys turned out to play their second game for The Friary School and it was certainly a testing fixture with strong opposition, and heavy winds and rain throughout, but this did not bother the boys who ran out convincing winners.
The first half saw a dominant performance from The Friary and they took a lead into half-time.
The second half saw more goals – alongside even more great saves from Billy Barlow in The Friary goal. Year 7’s top goal scorer Evan Wynne added another 5 goals to his tally, with other goals coming from Ollie Mantle and Riley Preece-Jones who added to their strikes in the last fixture. Also, captain Josh Evans scored to top off a great all-round team performance.
Jamie Sleigh, PE teacher and team coach, said: “Once again it was great to see so many parents supporting our Year 7’s against EDA. The next game is Tuesday 15th October at home to Chase Terrace so we’ll hope for more of the same.”
