Last week saw the French Department take the lead in organising a celebration of European Day of Modern Languages.
The European Day of Languages is always on 26 September and is jointly organised by the Council of Europe and the European Union. Its aim is to encourage language learning across Europe.
The week saw a fanfare of activities including face-painting, prize competitions, French breakfasts, tutor time activities, assemblies, etc.
It all builds up to the Year 11 trip to Paris and was a popular attraction during Year 6 Open Evening.
Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “The MFL team helped our students to some amazing results last summer and, despite the national pre-occupation with the on-going misery of the Brexit debate, we are keen to keep our students upbeat and outward-looking towards the world around them.”
