After the serious road accident delayed Knockout Challenge’s provision of our Summer Rewards Day, we were delighted to welcome their team back to our school to set up their inflatable challenges for our reward winners.
The morning saw bright sunshine so the majority of Darwin House – winners of the House Cup 2019 – had the course to themselves. The themed day was built around over £30,000 worth of inflatable obstacle courses and the activities ranged from slides to foam, water chutes to team races, and pumping music to hysterical laughter.
The afternoon saw the students with the most House points from Garrick, Johnson and Seward have a go on the activities and the feedback from everyone was glowing.
Mark Drury, Assistant Headteacher, said: “We delighted to get the event up-and-running and to celebrate the successes of over 30 students from the last school year. This event followed the specific golf and fair rewards for attendance, the Prom for Year 11 and 13 students, the ice-creams, the field trips, as well as the usual certificates and awards in the termly House assemblies,”
Matt Allman, Headteacher, added: “Our House Point system means that every student – no matter what their ability – has the opportunity to earn the House points to get them involved in this special day. In life not everyone gets the grades, job or lifestyle they want, and our rewards system reflects this as a life lesson. We go again this year and I know every single one of the many reward events will see a mix of new and old winners get the chance to celebrate.”
