Sadly, our end of term Rewards Day has been postponed.
The company we use have been involved in a very serious motorway accident which shut the M6 for three and a half hours while the crew members were cut out of their lorries by the emergency services. The incident has destroyed their vehicles and, as I write, three of the team remain in hospital with their injuries, including the manager.
We only found out the full details late yesterday evening. We have an established relationship with the company involved, who are a family run business; we are devastated to hear what’s happened.
Attempts have been made at short notice to source another provider who can deliver an event of this scale; unfortunately, as you can imagine, similar companies are fully booked out at this time of year.
We are sorry for the inconvenience caused and the understandable disappointment of the children; we also know that Friary students will understand the bigger picture in this instance.
Looking ahead, we are aiming to re-arrange Rewards Day, probably for September. Please be assured that everyone who had received an invite for tomorrow will be invited again.
Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “In the meantime, we are working on a small gesture for those deserving students – perhaps an ice cream or other reward – with more details to follow for the students”.
