The Friary Under 14’s cricket team delivered a bowling masterclass to beat Erasmus Darwin Academy.

Winning the toss, Friary captain Jack Turner elected to bat with the team setting a very respectable 115/3 off their 16 overs. Dom Herbert (28) and Turner (25) were pick of the batsman and set the tone for the innings with Luke While and Ethan Hill-Breese also adding contributing respectable scores to the total.

After change over Friary shone with the ball with Alfie Jones going 3/3 off two overs, Jacob Housley going 12/2 from his two and Ethan Porter, While and Turner also picking up wickets to bowl out EDA for 69 runs.

Cole Hickman, Team Coach and PE teacher, said: “We have busy nets each day and it is fantastic to see that practise paying off in a match situation. It was a hugely impressive performance.”
