Y12 students took part in a UCAS Workshop, with outside speakers from the University of Birmingham and De Montfort University providing sessions to upskill students enabling them to make the right choices on their future post-18 destinations.
Students explored research options, the UCAS application process and personal statement writing, and feedback was very positive with everyone enjoyed the sessions.
Carrie Cain, Assistant Headteacher, said: “We were thrilled with the high-quality sessions led by the University of Birmingham and De Montfort university and the day has very much encouraged an evaluation of where students are and where they want to be. We have been keen to emphasise that it is important to aim high, but equally vital to put in the hard yards now to make the dream become a reality. It will not just happen, it will have to be earned.”
