Our annual ‘Encore’ performance showcased a wide variety of acts – combining music with dance and comedy with short skits – and played through the week as it built towards a sell-out final night.
The show had been staged after hours of practise, stretching over the preceding weeks, with both students and staff working hard to ensure everyone was ‘alright on the night’,
The final night has historically been the Sheriff of Lichfield’s show and we were thrilled that the present Sheriff, Mr Michael Mullarkey, arrived with an entourage, including the Mayor of Lichfield, David Leytham, to watch the students perform.
Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “The show was a fantastic exhibition of our students’ talents and as it is very much an opportunity for the students to take the initiative in their performance it was great to see them full grasp that particular nettle. The regular support of parents and families, as well as the attendance of Lichfield dignitaries on the final night, only added to what was a special event. Thanks too to the PTFA who came out in force each night to sell refreshments before and during the interval of the show.”
